I started writing this song on the eve of the verdict in the George Zimmerman murder trial of Trayvon Martin. I knew in my heart, like most of us did, that he would be acquitted. All I could do that night was pray and write this song from the perspective of Trayvon. This song is dedicated to him and to all the other Black lives hunted, stolen, taken down by hatred.
